the Jaycees of Platteville held their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. This year Southwest residents donated bags of candy to help fill the eggs that would be hidden for children of Platteville to hunt. By donating 7 bags of candy, we were able to help fill that many more eggs for the egg hunt. I thank you for that. The goal with this was to show that the college of Platteville does not need to be solely involved with themselves, but should also be involved in the community we are a part of. If you would like to see pictures, donate to the Jaycees group, or just learn more information, click on the link here.
On Wednesday last week we went to KMART to shop the sales since it is going out of business in MARCH. It was a lot of fun to see all of the items yo don’t need but suddenly have to have because they are such a deal. Even if you didn’t go with us, make sure to get out there because those small necessities you don’t budget for (shampoo, toothbrushes, vitamins, medicine, hygiene products) are all on sale too!
Friday was Fries with Friends. This event was a time to come eat some wonderfully unhealthy food, right before rushing into studying for finals next week. It was interesting to see who choose what toppings, and to see residents intermingling. There was also Friends (the TV show) playing on the projector . All in all it was a great time to just hang out and breathe a little before finals really takes over.
On Thursday we watched Mulan, ate a ton more popcorn then we should have, and did it all form the comfort of my suite. It was a lot of fun using the projector to make the movie huge. Make sure if you didn’t come to keep an eye out for what else is happeing on the wing.
Thanks to everyone who came to the comedian last night. It was a lot of fun. Arvin Mitchell did some great impressions and had a lot of character that he brought to the stage. If you missed this Stand Up Saturday, that is okay because CPR holds this event pretty much every month. The best part, besides getting to hang out with people, is that like most events on Platteville’s campus it is FREE!!!!
Tonight is the pizza and outdoor movie night on the lawn next to the PSC. I will be knocking on doors before hand to see if anyone wants to go. This is a great way to get to know a little bit about your fellow wing mates before the first wing meeting. Movie starts at 830. ~rains site is velzy commons
~Updated. While the movie may not have been held outside, it was still a lot of fun to talk with everyone who came over pizza. Plus those who decided to download the CPR app received a coupon for a free root beer float at A&W. If you didn’t come to this event don’t worry because there are plenty more events still to come.
Hey everyone, I just wanted to thank all of you who came out to the Camp-In-S’mores program on Friday night. We all had a great time making S’mores, watching movies, and playing some board games. We even got to spent the evening with our custodial workers kids, as we were babysitting them so Kevin could have a date night with his wife.
Hey, I just wanted to thank everyone who came to my program on Sunday night. We all had a great time watching the Oscars ceremony.
Hey all, I just wanted to thank all of you who came to the Dead Pool Dollar Movie Night program tonight. We had a great time watching everyone’s favorite Anti-Hero on the big screen.
